WHY WATERCOLOR?
Transparency and Luminosity
From an artistic standpoint, watercolor's allure lies in its inherent luminosity and transparency, allowing light to interact with pigments and create a unique, glowing effect. This characteristic enables artists to build depth through layered washes, capturing subtle variations in color and atmosphere. The fluidity of watercolor encourages spontaneous and expressive mark-making, fostering a sense of freedom and leading to beautiful, unpredictable results.
Its ability to convey ethereal qualities, like light and mood, makes it ideal for capturing landscapes and emotional nuances. Furthermore, the versatility of watercolor techniques, from delicate washes to bold strokes, empowers artists to achieve diverse textures and effects, making it a powerful tool for both detailed and expressive artistic endeavors.
